What TV should I get?

If you are using the fireplace, I do not recommend mounting the tv. Heat is the worst enemy of any tvs. A 55" LCD would fit fine, look at Samsung and Sony for the two brands. Costco would be the best place to check on the price, they also provide you a 90 day return policy and an extra year of factory warranty at no cost to you. You can also look at a 58" Plasma from Panasonic. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality than any tvs in the market today and beside that it is also less expensive. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the pro and con besides the reviews on tvs. Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category from entry level to the high end, while Samsung, Sony and Toshiba does not. While other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. Hope this will help you out.
