Am i going into labor or is it false labor?

well i'm 37 weeks preg. and i got up this morning @ 1 n did my biz then i seen spotting of blood. when i got up i was having really bad contractions so i called the hosp. n all the nurse said was until i bleed alot n not just spotting i can go in. but i've been having contractions like crazy all morning ever since 1. so what does this mean should i go in to get checked? what can i do to just start my labor since i'm getting really bad cont.? do u think i'm dilating or is my body just getting ready n how long from now do u think i'll be going in for labor...?
