Is it 'wrong' to own a parrot?

Yes, it is wrong unless if you get an older one that needs a home. If you buy a parrot baby from a breeder then people will think you are selfish and weird for wanting to confine an animal that can potentially live up to 100 years. Just because a parrot can talk does not mean he is really communicating with you on a level that he would communicate with others of his kind.
