How and when did you toss out the Binky?

My daughter is almost 3 months old (can't believe it!) and last night, because her Binky some how vanished out of her bed, she just wouldn't go back to sleep! I tried giving her my finger , didn't want it, tried letting her nurse, didn't want to...she just wanted her pacifier! It was 3am - 6am and when I finally decided to wake my husband up to tell him I'm going to buy one, and when she got it..WHAM! She was out in 2 minutes. I hate that stupid pacifier, I just don't know when or how to break the habit! How did you go about it?
